How To Play The Aureus Slot

Aureus has a grid with five rows and seven reels. It uses the CoinVerge mechanic, where you win by landing symbols within brackets. Symbols only land on reels 2, 4 and 6. Brackets can appear on reels 1, 3, 5 and 7. There are three types of brackets: 1 High (one position high, coloured red), 2 High (two positions high, coloured blue) and 3 High (three positions high, coloured pink). Each bracket has two forms: opening and closing. If opening and closing brackets of the same type land on the same row(s), a collection area is formed between them. Standard symbols that appear within a collection area award payouts and bonus symbols within a collection area have their effects triggered.

When the slot has loaded, you’ll see the current bet size displayed on the right. If you’d like to change this, click it and then use the arrow buttons to select a different bet size. The options go from 0.20 to 80.00. The large circular button at the bottom spins the reels once. Above this is a button with two arrows - this turns on autoplay, a feature you can read more about here. Above this is a button that makes the reels spin faster when turned on. The slot has an average RTP of 96%.

Aureus Slot Features

• Ancient Greece Theme. There are many online slot games themed to ancient Greece - check out some of them right here - and Aureus is one of them. Zeus stands on a pedestal to the left of the semi-transparent reels and near him is a traditional Greek temple and some trees. The slot’s graphics are designed in a rather quirky style and they look different from most other slots inspired by ancient Greece.

• Audio. The slot has an immersive and dramatic soundtrack that complements the theme and design quite well.

• CoinVerge. As explained above, Aureus doesn’t give payouts in the usual way; there are no paylines or anything like that. Instead, you win by landing matching opening and closing brackets to create collection areas.

• Symbols. There are three regular symbols that give payouts if they land within a collection area. There’s a high-paying gold coin, a medium-paying bronze and a low-paying silver coin. The payouts are 3x-50x your bet for each winning gold coin, 0.60-0.75x your bet for each winning bronze coin and 0.05x your bet for each winning silver coin.

• Bonus Symbols. The slot has a number of bonus symbols that award various enhancers and bonuses. There are four multiplier coins. Each one has a different multiplier value (x2, x3, x4 or x5). If you win and one of these symbols is in the collection area, your payouts will be multiplied accordingly. The upgrade coin gives a gold coin payout and changes all other coins in the same collection area into gold coins. The blue lightning bolt coin adds all coins on the same reel to the collection area it's part of. The yellow lightning bolt coin creates a collection area that covers all coins on the reels. There are also three respin coin symbols. Each one shows a silver number surrounded by two silver arrows.

Aureus Bonus Features

• Respins. If a respin symbol falls within a collection area, you get a number of respins equal to the number on the triggering symbol. Each respin symbol can award you two, three or five respins. You can receive a maximum of eight respins per trigger. Visit our respins page to find more slots that offer respins.

• Lightning Feature. This feature can trigger on any random spin. It adds an opening bracket to the same row as a closing bracket to create a collection area.

Play The Aureus Slot For Real Money

What makes Aureus worth playing is the fact that it does something different. It doesn’t stick to the tried-and-tested formula that most other online slots go by. We suggest giving the slot a spin for real money if it sounds good to you.
