Alice Cooper and The Tome of Madness Slot

One of the most popular slots in Play’n Go’s portfolio is Rich Wilde And The Tome Of Madness, which came out in 2019. One of the provider’s many new slots for 2021 is a branded follow-up that offers similar gameplay but a completely new theme: this one is based on the singer, songwriter and performer Alice Cooper, who’s best known for his heavy metal music and for introducing elements of horror to rock ’n’ roll. Have a read of our review and if everything looks good, play the Alice Cooper And The Tome Of Madness slot game for real money. Now let’s see what this action-packed slot has going on.

How To Play The Alice Cooper And The Tome Of Madness Slot

Before you start playing, you’ll have to get your bet set up. Along the bottom of the screen are the bet sizes. The current one is highlighted red; the others are grey. Use the plus and minus sign buttons to scroll through the options and pick the bet size you want to bet with. The circular green button on the right spins the reels once. The smaller orange button next to this turns on autoplay, which comes with several optional limits to help you customise the spins.

Alice Cooper And The Tome Of Madness Slot Features

• Alice Cooper Theme. As mentioned above, this slot is based on Alice Cooper. The premise is that Alice is visiting a new city as part of his tour and before performing his show, he goes exploring and happens upon a creepy bookstore. He buys a blank book and keeps it as a journal, but when he goes to write in it, he hears someone else writing in it too… Before he knows it, he ends up in chains, bound by Alices from other dimensions. The slot has a suitably dark and unsettling design. The reels are placed on the Tome of Madness itself, which is located in a large hall on a stormy night. On the right is Alice in chains; on the left is a large top hat with a skull on its brim. • Audio. The slot has a horror-themed soundtrack that’s atmospheric and quite unnerving. The sound effects are lifelike.
• Cluster Pays. This online slot game is played on a 5x5 grid and it uses the cluster pays system. You win whenever four or more matching symbols are touching horizontally or vertically. It’s possible for a spin to produce more than one winning cluster.
• Cascades. Following a win, a cascade takes place. All of the winning symbols are removed from the grid and the spaces they leave behind are filled by symbols falling down from above. This is a cascade. If it produces any new wins, another cascade takes place. There’s no limit to how many cascades a single spin of the reels can trigger.
• Symbols. There are eight standard symbols you can win with. Four of these are coloured gems, each of which has a skull inside. The four high-paying ones are a green spider, a purple cross, a blue snake and a red heart. The most rewarding of these is the heart. Form a cluster of 15 or more hearts and you’ll be paid 200x your total bet.
• Bonus Symbols. There are two bonus symbols: the Tome of Madness wild and the key. The wild substitutes for all other symbols except the key.

Alice Cooper And The Tome Of Madness Bonus Features

• Alice Cooper. If there are three key scatters on the reels, the Alice Cooper Mega Wild is added. This is stacked five positions high and it substitutes for all standard symbols, just like the regular wild.
• Reality Effects. When a spin produces no wins, there’s a chance the Reality Effects feature will kick in. If it does, one of four features takes place:
  • The Dungeon. This turns all low-paying symbols into different high-paying ones.
  • Chamber of Horrors. This removes some symbols and leaves behind a number of wilds.
  • Insane Asylum. All high-paying symbols are turned into the same randomly determined high-paying symbol.
  • Temptation Room. A wild is added and some symbols are turned into the same randomly determined symbol.
• Hat of Madness. The top hat on the left of the reels is the Hat of Madness. This has a metre and five levels, each one represented by a disc. Collect enough winning symbols from a chain of cascades to unlock these rewards, one at a time. Below are the rewards listed in the order you earn them in:
  • 1-2 Wilds. One or two wilds are added.
  • 3-6 Wilds. Three to six wilds are added.
  • Reality Spins. The Reality Spins feature is triggered.
  • Reality Spins x2 Multiplier. The Reality Spins feature is triggered with your wins doubled.
  • Reality Spins x5 Multiplier. The Reality Spins feature is triggered with a x5 multiplier applied to your wins.
• Reality Spins. For this feature, you pick one of the four Reality Effects. You then get three free spins with the chosen Reality Effect triggering at the end of each spin. Mega Wilds can appear and they may add extra wilds to help you win.
