How To Play The California Gold Slot

California Gold uses a standard three-row, five-reel grid with 25 paylines. The paylines aren’t fixed: you get to decide exactly how many of them are covered by your bets. You also get to choose a coin value, for which the options go from 0.01 to 10.00. Your total bet is the coin value multiplied by the chosen number of active paylines. You’ll find all the betting options in the settings section, which you can access by clicking the button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. This also brings up the autoplay button; give this a click if you want the slot to do the spinning for you. Our autoplay section gives you more information about this convenient slot feature.

California Gold Slot Features

• Gold Theme. The theme of this slot is the gold rush of California. The action takes place out in the open countryside on a sunny day. The white reels take up most of the screen and the background image is a shot of a scenic landscape presented with basic graphics. Near the bottom you can see mining-related things such as barrels, dynamite and a cart full of golden nuggets. Discover lots more slots similar to this one by looking through our gold-themed slots page.
• Audio. There isn't a piece of music that’s always playing, though the slot does have some sound effects that are similar to what you’d hear when playing a typical slot machine in a land-based casino.
• 25 Paylines. To win, enough matching symbols have to land consecutively on an active payline, with the line of symbols starting on the far left reel.
• Symbols. There are ten regular symbols, all of which are themed. There’s a pickaxe, a barrel, a miner’s lamp, a map, some dynamite and a gold pan, along with a cart filled with gold, a mule with a heavy load on its back, train tracks leading to a mine and a miner. The last two symbols pay for two or more on an active payline; all other symbols require three or more. The miner offers the biggest payout: win with five for a payout worth 5,000x your coin value.
• Bonus Symbols. The slot has two bonus symbols: a wild and a scatter. The wild is the miner holding a golden nugget; it substitutes for all regular symbols and doubles payouts when it substitutes. It appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 only. As for the scatter, it’s a golden nugget and it pays for two to three anywhere; win with five for a payout equal to 100x your total bet.

California Gold Bonus Features

• Free Spins. Want some free spins? Spin the reels and if three or more scatters land, you’ll be awarded 10 free spins. Each and every payout you earn while using free spins is tripled. What’s also great is that the free spins can be retriggered in the same way that it’s triggered. Visit our free spins slots page if you’re keen to play more slots with free spins rounds.
• Bonus Round. This feature comes into play if the miner symbol appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 on the same spin. Pick one of four mines and the miner will ride down it, collecting up to five nuggets on the way. Each nugget reveals a cash prize.
